Hi all :)
I am currently in my home town of Durango for a week. I’m mostly estranged from my parents/family, but my grandmother had passed away and duty calls. It’s definitely extremely heavy to be here and feel all the accompanying swirling energy cough trauma cough that comes with being in this place. But it’s also cathartic and a welcome punctuation for my time in Colorado.
Yesterday I took myself up to this secret local hot spring. It was lovely. I saw a snowy horseshoe rabbit, a pika, and two yearling moose. I brought the wrong lens (wide angle), but was just happy to shoot again for th first time since I landed in Colorado almost one month ago. Even if just to take some cutie hot spring pics. So so nice to remind myself who I am, over and over again. I often feel like I’m “bad” for struggling to be in a sitting position, and thus edit photos, respond to messages, etc. because is it not what is comfortable for my body. So that is a very slow process for me. But this hot spring is on an avalanche prone hill in below freezing weather deep in the San Juan mountains. It’s a half mile trek uphil in several feet of very loose mud thawed by warm water and then covered in snow and thistles. So the only option is to go barefoot. It’s a suffer fest with a gorgeous serene reward at the top. Just how I like it. It was a hustle and I did it and I loved it and here I am.
I promised Thoracic+ more tarantula face and titty pics and those will come as soon as I find some internet.
