A little 2021 Assortment + Updates (for Support Club+)

I want to publish a book! It'll take a while to get everything together. I'm enjoying revisiting photos that, even from a mere year ago, feel so different to spend time with. I'm ever-changing in so many ways. I shoot a lot. Sometimes it's really nice to revisit and slow down and collect and organize to create an ever stable foundation to grow from. It's hard to do that because I'm perpetually behind with the photo work. Many of you know this but with my unstable spine its really hard to be at a computer. I have to stand and my sciatica makes that tiring fast. So I'm often behind on the new exciting stuff let alone feeling inclined and ready to dive into the recent past. But it's times like these that I really can feel the changes. I like to go through RAWs with fresh eyes and re-select and re-edit without refencing how I saw a photoset before. And I choose different images and edit them a little differently too. Here are a few that I poked through just yesterday for one hour, but didn't select to put in my book. I didn't even flag these to keep when I first looked at them. Now I love them-- I love the story they tell and the memories they evoke. Time and space is such a strong mechanism for change. That's what makes this so powerful to me.

Updates:

I've landed back in Virginia! I'll be here for a solid two months. My body is broken. I am weary and tired. The vigilance from being on the road and often not having my needs met has really taken hold over my ability to rest and digest. So I'm really excited to recuperate. And get some things done that I've ultimate put off for the past year that I've been living in my van on the road. That's right. I started my journey very beginning of May last year right before my birthday and went down through and completed projects in: the Western Carolinas, back up through Pensilvania, NY, Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska, and stuck around Colorado for 6 months (to get a bunch of MRIs, get a PT for my unstable neck that was making me throw up constantly, adjust my medications, see my physiologist, get a Rolfing ten-series, see some friends, and get some minor procedures done in my low back, & then heal from that). After Colorado I scuttled over to SoCal where I circled back through some really special places that held me when I was succumbing to my condition in 2019, and shot a lot of healing stuff. Really really amazing stuff that I can't wait to work through and share all of with you. And make a book about. And use to tell my story. Once the rest of the US warmed up, I set sail back East and swirled and shot through Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Southern Colorado (where I am from and where my estranged family resides), then absolutely barreled through the midwest. Which for me, looks like struggling through 3-4 hours max of driving on a good day HA. So that took a solid 2+ weeks. I'm so happy to land back in a place that has become a sort of home base through the pandemic and gather myself again. The van is fucked up. A lot needs fixed. Same with Prana. If all goes well and I'm feeling ready I have more projects in August and a workshop in NorCal that will find me sweeping my way cross country once again. Pray for us!

I won a submission to a dream magazine. I announced two weeks ago (most likely to higher tiers) that I would be submitting a few photos including one from Alabama Hills to an international, judged, fine art nude magazine based out of Berlin. I'm so incredibly honored and grateful to announce that I won every entry of 20 images! So that is encouraging to say the least. I'm not sure I would've even had the gumption to submit if it weren't for this community and your support. Thank you :) The publication goes out in June and I will share more details then. It also includes a back story as to why this magazine in particular is so special to me. I've come such a long way since 2019 it just blows me away. I'm so proud of myself and my ability to express myself in these ways independently without depending on the work of anyone else.

I got three new Cerivcal (or higher) patrons in the past two months! This is after over a year of stagnation. The pandemic was a hard time for everyone where many lost the means to support artists. Totally understandable. I'm just so happy for any growth I have here as it's really meaningful for me. My long term subscribers are some of the biggest driving forces behind my ability to keep traveling and shooting. Thank you always. And thank you to anyone who chooses to support me for however long in whatever way they can.

I may have had a couple more updates but I'm feeling pretty grateful and full and will leave it at that for now. A reminder, anyone below Thoracic $15 photoset tier is missing out on a lot of these photosets from my trip. I will start posting more frequently now, since I'm in a place with walls and I don't have a ton of time til the next round of travels. If finances are ever an issue, please talk to me. I am so happy to work with you to figure something out that works. This includes those already in higher tiers.

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

xx Prana

Yay! Glad that you are safe and sound in Virginia! Congratulations on the magazine! And hey, maybe things will work out for you to join Lior, Bunny, Roarie, and me at the Conscious Creativity Workshop during the last weekend in August!
