Yes! And sensation play in general is a great distraction. I personally am not a believer in "no pain no gain" when it comes to bodywork but understand the sentiment of pushing through the discomfort for healing means. I got weekly dry needling on my Piriformis/hips (something I really need again) and ended up craving the sensation because of how much it helped.

It's a beautiful set, including the location. People who don't understand roping or the risk-taking should be able to understand how redistributing pain is a common method of relief. Deep tissue massage, rolfing, even ice bags can hurt, but we know it's helping, we can even desire it. I've had bruises on my collar bone and top shoulder muscles from massage that looked like hickies, all from deep massage. Maybe IG is out of range for this, but another tribe is over here.

Doug you took the words right out of my mouth! Or I guess fingers. I really love partaking in anything that offers me control over my pain and experience in my body!! It's empowering, validating, and relieving all at the same time. I'm super happy you'd be interested in a Shibari fae set and would love to shoot that for you!! Yay!!! :)

These are amazing. And you are by no means the only person suffering from chronic pain and mobility issues that I know who engages in rope practice. I can totally get how someone who is afflicted by pain would want to take control back and confront it on their own terms. I would totally love to see (or photograph!!!) a Fae Shibari set - if that would be something you be interested in doing.
