This might seem totally crucking frazy, but one thing I’m currently (as of right now) working on is broadcasting more of the stuff I create! Like this neat-o video mash-up of all the stuff I did last year. That’s right, most of the stuff I spend time on never really gets shared anywhere because my pain brain headspace has made it difficult to confidently create a brand/voice for my art. It has been a slow process to make sure I’m not veering way off base, which is fine.
Sometimes when my body keeps me up at night, I do some phone projects to distract and make the time go by. Sometimes I need a lot of time to go by before I can feel ok again. Even if the projects also cause pain, it’s been a saving grace to be able to turn to creatitivy to cope with the consistent discomforts and add some variation to my existence.
Anyways, last night, instead of sleeping, I made this, and will spend the next couple of days recovering and staving off the “abyss baggage” which is a product of forced solitude. Did you know that being lonely can take literal chunks off your lifespan? And obliterates your mental capabilities later in life. Good gosh dang I have these bird people to keep me company. And thanks y’all for holding my Internet hand!
Most of this is BTS involving or surrounding a shoot. It’s been really cool to flip through and revisit all of the stuff I managed to create during the shitshow that was 2020. I made some really amazing creative connections that have influenced me in many ways. And I tried lots of new things under unprecendeted constrictions, which can reveal things that wouldn’t have otherwise been explored. I’m only gonna keep getting better at making cool stuff to share, so you’re in luck.
Hope you enjoy, let me know if you hate it 😉
