Dev Update #9

Happy New Years Everyone!

Oh, man... What a year,  right?
Terrible year for me, I'm so ready for 2021!  But things are already starting to look better because, after a couple of years of headaches, fatigue, aches, vertigo, pain, and going to multiple doctors, I finally had an answer to the cause. From an MRI report I just read yesterday, it says I have a neural foraminal narrowing (stenosis) and degenerative disc disease in the neck. Yeah, that doesn't sound too great, but to finally have an answer and know what is wrong with me is a huge relief and now I can work on correcting it and finally get some relief. I know this may be too much to share on a Patreon dev update but I want to be fully transparent with everyone because this does slow down progress from time to time. Usually, it doesn't and I work through it just fine, but a week ago, it flared up and I couldn't do anything for days and just stayed in bed. Anyways, I go to the doctor's on Tuesday to go over my MRI results, and hopefully, he has a plan to make it better.

Okay, back to Ripple's stuff. Progress has been pretty good beside that week my symptoms flared up. Got a lot done, and I like the update so far. Episode 3 is a big update!(as in a long episode) I knew it was going to big from when I wrote it, but as I'm working on it it's a little bigger than I thought. I am considering splitting the episode in half and releasing it in two parts; ep3 part1 and ep3 part 2. That way, you guys wouldn't have to wait forever for the next update. It's would still be an alright size, probably be in line with what most other devs release every update. Haven't made up my mind yet, but let me know what you think about that in the comments below. So far I have about 602 images and 25 animations. That's about 2/3rds of the size ep2 was. If I decide to split the release, you guys could get a release in a couple of weeks... maybe? So let me know what guys think and I am going to get back to work on Ripples.

Happy New Years and Stay Safe, Everyone!

Comments

Thanks for the kind words! It means a lot to hear things like that. On the health side, I got an MRI, and now going to a neurologist and physiatrist and getting a bunch of test done soon. Feeling a little better lately. Still working away on Ep3, though. I hope you guys will like it when the new update comes out

I just discovered this game and have to say--Wow. I didn't expect such a good storyline and such amazing models. I downloaded it for free, but as soon as I finished it, I came here to figure out how to contribute. Thank you so much for your amazing work. I'm new to these types of games, but it'll be hard to find its equal. As for Ep3, my brain would rather wait and play it through, but my heart...you get the point. As for your health, Riidher66776 gave great advice. I hope you're not in the US and can actually take all those steps--or are in the US and wealthy enough to do them. Take care of yourself before anything else!

Both,...Take your x-rays and MRI to as many as will see you. Be blunt and tell all of them that you are looking for different opinions. Some will have different ideas on treatment, some will have ideas on Pre-OP and/or post- OP, look for the best docs you can find in your area. Ask the doctors or the nurses who is the best for your kind of injury. Just remember you are not bound to any one doctor. Expense is always a key factor anywhere in the world But don't let that be your deciding motive. Good Docs are expensive, ask what their success rates are. If any former patients will talk to you then talk to them about how it went for them. A phone call and 15 min are cheap. Lastly, keep a diary of who you talked to and what they said and what you asked them. Otherwise, you will get things confused and switched around about who said what. it's easy to do especially when you get tired and you're hurting. Clarify everything so you understand exactly. You are your best ally. Remember better questions mean better answers. I know this a daunting task you're looking at and then recovery after ... it is easy to get discouraged and you just want to get it over with. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. After my first surgery, I was only able to get out of bed for 10 minutes a day at first. I was laid up for 18 months. Because I never gave up i was able to eventually go back and play sports again. Persistence is a big key, Don't give up Again I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the advice. I do have a neurologist also. So getting a 2nd or 3rd opinion from who? Another Orthopedic or neurologist? Or who?

Jestur

Take care of your health first. Always get a Neurologist with your Orthopedic. And always get a second opinion or even a third or a fourth. Without a doubt, the better questions you ask, the better care you will get. The more doctors you talk to the more you will learn. Never rush into surgery. make it the last resort. Look into alternative medicine. When it is time for Physical therapy go at it like your a sportsperson. The quality of life return is tremendous. I have had two surgeries on my spine and everything I have said I was taught by doctors. Good luck to you. We want our storyteller back and in good health.

Would deinitely prefer to wait longer and have it all at once, but I will play and love it regardless

rehsabpu

we dont mind just make sure to keep your health up and we always look forward to more of your awesome game jestur hihi

Obi

Meh, do what ever you think works the best. I won't be too butthurt having to wait a while longer.

Lezromancer

Nah, I'm not that cruel. I know the perfect spot and it would be a good part 1 ending.

Jestur

The worst kind would probably be immediately during a sex scene or they get caught

Poke-Ladd

Yeah, I know the perfect part if I do.

Jestur

Splitting the episode hm.. great potential for a middle part cliff hanger
