Yeah, I'm not really being subtle about the things/genres I'm driven by in my art anymore... it's just fun to draw this stuff and be real to what I like. Toriyama's recent passing rocked my world, and after much mourning and wallowing I find myself yet again rediscovering a passion for art, slowly. I never knew the dude personally, obviously, but I felt some kind of strange spiritual connection... When I found out he was gone it just kind of gutted me. There's something personal about his art particularly to me, and I feel I understand to some degree.
It's funny since this is obviously more of a Jojo influenced piece, but, the godfather of shonen manga is obviously to blame to some extent as well.
Anyway, enough depressing rambling. This is, of course, the great, great, great... great? grandpa Wolfeller, Tremane, going berserk and opening a can of whoop-ass on some poor soul that did something very bad.
Tremane has become something of a personal favorite character to me. I really feel, the more I write about him and draw him, that he's developing into a very powerful subject. The journey he and his comrades embark on and the struggles they face along the way has been fun to delve into. Perhaps someday I can be moved to share it even, or at least illustrate bits and pieces. It's rather off the wall, and frankly, I'm embarrassed by it. We'll see if eventually I can shake off that shame.
Regardless, I loved making this.
