football in this universe is more akin to shonen anime battles than it is actual football, I think... it's just more fun to imagine.

a heated homecoming game between the cerberus watchdogs and the walrus tusks - two very intense rival teams coming together to butt heads. Buck is determined to face the steamroller that is Kody head on (or, well, kind of head on... he's kind of running from him here, but, he has the ball!) and score a touchdown. Brody can sense that his team captain is in danger as Kody draws near at a terrifying speed, and launches himself forward in the hopes of catching up to him before his ursine nemesis can... will he reach him in time? Kody is right there.

this is a bit cheesy but I had a blast drawing this, my inner mangaka surfaces whenever I get in the mood to draw these action scenes. it's not only fun to illustrate some actual football in this universe but also it kinda tells you a lot about the characters. Buck's determination and dedication to the sport, Brody's selflessness when it comes to his teammates... and Kody's intense aggression; ignoring all else around him so he can sink his teeth into his current target. so focused, in fact, that he knocked his fellow team member and star quarterback - Knave - on his ass, all so he could attempt to tackle Buck for himself. he'll probably get chewed out later for this, but he wants that victory and sees himself as the most capable... so poor Knave had to take the fall.

I wonder how this resolved?? I wanna do some more sketches like this, if they're appealing to yall.
