howie remake

this is the oldest pic I remade, and boy is it rough. original is dated '5/4/2012' so this monstrosity just turned 10 as of last month... the glowup here is nuts. I don't draw howie too often these days, its kind of fluctuated over the recent few years where I've sexed him up a lot, but I kinda reeled it in a bit here. he's still smoking hot, but just a little more understated. it's a little closer to howie's roots, a little... mature looking.

like most of my characters, howie has changed a lot over time. my OCs exist in a floating timeline, where their ages mostly stay the same, but they evolve a bit as characters. the howie of 10 years ago was very... 'wholesome' in a way, sexuality was a bit more understated. it was very sitcom gay, tbh. I was young then, and dumb as hell.

I think at the time I found this fantasy very comforting. today, I'm kind of icked by it lmao. buuut I think a loving relationship, a nice, normal home life and sustainable income is a comforting fantasy, but my sensibilities surrounding this have changed a bit. I know people miss these old comics, I feel bad that I have no itch to make more of them... but it would be so different anyway that I'm not sure it would scratch the itch for any old fans.

sorry to rant again about my old work, but the pic I remade here is sooo old I feel as if it had to be talked about. I like getting these thoughts out there.

considering this is the 10 year anniversary of howie, I thought it was a good time to do this. you need not worry, connor and even dylan (who I just, never draw, like ever) are waiting in the wings. hope yall enjoy!
