I haven't 100% settled on a name for this dude yet. but... he's one of my fav dads now. young at heart, a big teddy bear, very meatheaded in some ways... but also accidentally a genius. weird combination I know.

I thought it would be fun, and also kind of realistic, if this guy got into programming as a career, particularly video games? but it was kind of an effortless thing for him, he just thought it sounded cool and dived right in, and it took off. as if without even thinking, he's now attending developer conferences and seminars etc. and he's just a programmer. total lunkhead former varsity jock with a natural math brain he wasn't even fully aware of.

it's funny since I think the stereotype for characters in that field is that their "pocket protector" nerds, but in real life it's pretty diverse? all walks of life really coming into any field.

he also gets along really well with his son!

I'm gonna just tag this as JV for now til I decide on his for sure name. his initials are JV too, so... it works.
