just a little comic I wanted to do to illustrate something of travis and some of his interactions with his nephew. I always have mixed feelings, I don't want to make travis look like too big a nerd because I don't want to take away his hunkiness, but the truth is he's the smartest of his brothers and he had the nerdier interests outside of his pro athleticism and top tier academics. when he was tre's age, I imagine he was basically campus king. loved by all the girls and the guys, charismatic, overwhelmingly intelligent, amazing athlete and super attractive. even moreso than his older brother trent had been.
I guess I just find it endearing for stuff like this to be in the backdrop of that, even shamelessly. I think to some extent I need to distance myself from these outdated ideas that video games and stuff equate being a loser to others. not that I've ever believed this but you know how some of the outside world can be, it poisons my own brain. truth of the matter is: anyone can like anything, really.
there's something also very charming to me about someone who doesn't let go of stuff like this with age. travis is only in his mid 30s, but he's also an accomplished architect with a beautiful home and family, but this stuff still means a lot to him. even his own son, jayce, doesn't get this stuff. would probably scoff at it a bit.
either way, make no mistake, travis is still a total stud. and he knows it.
I always feel just a little apprehensive about making comics... idk. something about it has always felt too "personal" to me, as much as I try to push myself to make them now and then I do feel funny about it. just hope you guys enjoy it. I left it a little open ended so I could do more pages to it later if I felt like it/you guys wanted more.
