Hey everyone!
Check out these T-Mobile speed test results.
As Patreon members, I'm giving you full access to the spreadsheet where I compared T-Mobile Magenta Plus, Essentials, Prepaid, Metro, and even Mint Mobile side-by-side!
You can see average speeds when the tests were run individually, average speeds when the tests were run simultaneously, video streaming performance and speed caps, and so much more.
I collected all this data as part of an upcoming video, which should be up soon! I'm excited about it :)
Here's a snapshot of what I learned:
T-Mobile has 3 levels of priority: QCI 6, QCI 7, and QCI 9.
QCI 6: Magenta, Magenta Plus, and T-Mobile Prepaid. This has the highest priority on the network. These plans get 100% of available speeds and performance.
QCI 7: T-Mobile Essentials, Metro by T-Mobile, and Mint Mobile. This had the second-highest priority on the network. Speeds averaged 30% of what QCI 6 averaged when tests were run at the same time.
QCI 9: This is the bottom of the barrel. After you use 50GB on Magenta, Magenta Plus, and Prepaid, or over 35GB on Metro by T-Mobile, you are deprioritized down to this level. Speeds averaged 15% of what QCI 6 averaged when tests were run at the same time.
If I were to run a simultaneous test where 100% was 100Mbps, QCI 6 would get 100Mbps, QCI 7 would get 30Mbps, and QCI 9 would get 15Mbps.
It's important to note that when the tests were run individually, they all got 100% of available speeds and performance available to them. However, when run at the same time, that's when I noticed the difference.
I hope you're all well, and stay tuned for the video!
