I cant see the sense in bringing in a soon to be 32 year old left back in the form of Marcos Alonso to compete with the incumbent 33 year old left back in Jordi Alba? Similarly I can't see any sense in bringing in the soon to be 33 César Azpilicueta. Along with the ridiculous pursuit of Lewandowski this summers transfer window is shaping up to be pretty depressing and damaging. Surely in the precarious financial position the club is in signing old players on long term 3 year contracts on high wages is madness and will only add to lack of speed, physicality and intensity already evident in the team and squad.
