Final week of Acts?
Added 2024-10-14 22:10:12 +0000 UTCMaaaaaaayyyyyyybe??? We're only going through Acts as far as it sets up Galatians, and we're almost to the point where we've done that. Could this be our last week here? I could make promises, but let's be real. I never actually know until we get there.

Is Tarsus (Paul's home town) in Galatia? It's relatively near to Antioch, I think, but I don't have a good concept of distance in the first century... i.e. traversed by foot. 100 miles is 100 miles, but does it take 2 hours to drive or a week of walking (or something different? Is there any indiciation why Paul's went where he went in the first missionary journey? Would those have been the logical cities (or only cities)? And how large were these locations?

When you described Paul and barnabas's experience of being stoned because they weren't gods , it reminded me of the scene in Ghostbusters where they're on the top of the building and Gozer asks them creepily, "Are you a god?" And Ray nonchalantly says, "No," and so Gozer says "Then DIE!!!" and then zaps them all with paranormal energy.
