Galatians is right around the corner.

As we have been wrapping up I am struck by how the mindset of Jeremiah would have fostered the demeanor of the Pharisees and Sadducees. He is zealous and demands obedience to the law. So did they in their ways. But the Pharisees specifically are too easily cast as villains. After this timeframe they are the ones who will work so diligently to educate the masses about God and set the stage for a people ripe with yearning to follow something that works. Enter Jesus. I tend to think all of this stuff had to happen just so. Shave and a hair... Jesus.
