Getting to Yes

This week starts with a moment of appreciation for what happened behind the scenes to get to an agreement on the terms of the renewed covenant in Nehemiah 10. Let us pause and consider what it would take to get an entire community to agree on LITERALLY ANYTHING today, and then let us appreciate all the more the great achievement of the people in 444 BC in Jerusalem.
Well done ladies and gentlemen. Well done.

Great take, Jacqui. It looks like the author's of Kings and Chronicles went out of their way to make sure the reader understood that a clear Remnant existed after the fall of the Southern Kingdom, and they didn't expend the same energy trying to give the impression of a northern kingdom remnant, but the impression some were still around is still bleeds through in certain places.

I'm a little unsure where I should be commenting. This threads heading is a few days ago. Am I missing something? Sorry, quite new to this. Is Patreon the best place to leave comment or should I be somewhere else?

I also like the idea that decendants of the northern kingdom seem to have been included in the return. Although there ancestral lands were in the north I'm not sure that the division was quite as hard line as we may imagine. Intermarriage, maybe some families had owned houses in Jerusalem. I think it likely that some from the north fled to the south when Samaria fell. Maybe some who responded to Hezekiah's invitation in 2 Chronicles 30 just stayed on.
