Added 2023-11-01 16:08:53 +0000 UTC...how the people of Susa and the Jews were feeling when Esther and Mordechai's edict went out. It was a violent solution to a violent problem, and it makes sense that it would give us pause so far removed from the situation and given the playful tone of the book, but for the people who were there, the counter-edict was unambiguously celebrated as a great turn of events. We'll think that through this week.
