Why is it that the most "talented" character receives the most blessing on both ends? This parable seems to illustrate God's predetermination rather than personal choice. There maybe a cultural disconnect, because my culture typically cheers for the underdog and wants the more-privileged to fail. The clear, simple interpretation is to be responsible with whatever God gives you, but I'm hoping there's something deeper. What would have happened if the five-talent guy felt like he could waste it while the one-talent guy worked hard to earn a second talent? Eager to see what flavors come out of the Whitman Slow Cooker.
