Added 2022-03-07 17:37:24 +0000 UTCIt's seriously impressive, and it also demonstrates that he's connecting the dots for his listeners on a bunch of narrative arcs from the Old Testament about God using the Nations to judge his people, and then God judging those same Nations for their wickedness.
One of many reasons I'm grateful for you being here and up for the way we're doing this is that we can dive as deep as we need to into everything Jesus seems to be referencing so we can do our best to fully understand his meaning.

I enjoy the possibility that He, no the REALITY that He is telling us things that our tiny brains can't even begin to understand. Faith is believing in what we can't see. Knowing that God is perfect and will always keep His promises to us.

There was obviously a common theme and common words used to describe the end times, and many of the prophets were continuing on the same theme. The fact that Jesus uses the same theme doesn't mean he is referencing all the past statements.
