2021-08-08 13:03:42 +0000 UTCI am commenting on Jeff's description of Rickey Henderson's "lazy eye" and how it might be a kind of superpower (my words, not his) allowing him to perceive two things at once. I have intractable double vision, which I have had since I was twenty seven (back in 1987). At that time, I had an operation to restore the vision in my left eye which was blinded due to an injury when I was nine years of age. My double vision is certainly not the superpower Jeff described. My experience of the double vision is head aches and difficulties with night driving. I used to wear a contact to blind my left eye so I can function without head aches. I have used a pirate's patch occasionally to deal with the problem. At age six-one, my eyes are too dry for contacts, so now I wear a frosted lens in my glasses to cope with the difficulties imposed by my condition. Jeff's devotion for today was wonderful, I want that to be clear. His presentation of "lazy - eye" as an asset to Rickey Henderson doesn't match my experience as one who has lived with this condition most of his adult life. I would be willing to be contacted privately to speak to you more about this condition if it would be helpful. I love what you do, and as a pastor, I enjoy hearing the word proclaimed in Matt and Jeff's unique style!
