I have trauma. Today sucked balls.

Okay, it was tiny shit - sortof. But fuck, all in one day?

Humph.

Alright, so here's the deal. I got Dave in Dallas ch 17 up to about 4k (about half my norm) late last week and asked some of the guys to look it over since I was concerned I was not hitting the emotional notes I wanted to hit. That took a bit, but the response was positive.

I've spent most days since plunking away with a line here, a couple paragraphs there, making very little headway. Worse, I get three new story ideas vying for brain space. My initial reaction was to type a new paragraph in my 'Ideas' file and focus back on DiD. And yet, I made little progress.

Thursday I decided to indulge one of the ideas - the one I'd gotten that morning or late Wednesday, I forget which. Between 4pm Thursday and 3am Friday, I cranked out 7200 words of A Shocking New Life. It's intended as a one shot in the '34th Amendment' universe, in which penal and voluntary slavery are common. The story is now out to top tier patrons, and will roll out in one month intervals to the remaining tiers.

As I've said before, works not in the QT or Bunker universes will not automatically move over to Literotica. I suppose in a year or so, when I have a few of these, I'll post a poll and let the voting tiers choose one to share on the free site. Or maybe choose one to write extend into additional chapters.

So, I'm working on DiD 17, and hope to get that completed by middle of next week. Then I'll need to get approval on it. I may shift back to The Bunker after that, but we'll see. Things are brewing for both, so I need to make sure I'm hitting the right touchstones in each to make them remain believable. I've certainly been learning one of teh big risks of serial publishing - I can't go back an adjust an earlier chapter if I need more foreshadowing of something I intended, or if the plans I had are not working. (Or maybe If I should have done more planning in the first place.)
