We’re diving deep into the second half of the series, where things get even messier, gayer, and oh-so-dramatic. From May's revealing flashbacks to Ai's second attempt at arson, we’re unpacking it all with humor, heart, and a lot of love for Pluto the series and its incredible storytelling. Really appreciate the breakdown of Mays social circle and how that affects her interaction with Ai at first. I’ve never thought about it that way. And as much as I appreciate Ai defending May, I gotta go with Kaitlynn on the fish in oil stunt 😬

I listen to your deep dives carefully and they often cause me to reconsider my knee jerk opinions. I do admit that the following comes across stronger than I intended. IMHO. Both cases of arson by Ai would be essentially 100% wrong IRL. As examples of behavior for the viewers, they were also wrong. So far as symbolism is concerned, they were 75% wrong. Only 75%, because it symbolized Ai’s dedication to May. Ploy and Ton are sometimes victims because of their love for May. The attack on Ploy’s restaurant seems like another example. The extent of the overall cost to them becomes more obvious as the series continues. Ploy’s attempt to defuse the situation is not a justification for attacking her. You could see on Ploy’s face that she was on May’s and Ai’s side. Ploy is sometimes a bit oblivious to what’s happening, but that’s not a justification either. Plus, closing her restaurant would impact many people. As an additional note, even though I often fall in to the trap, a fictional story proves little. This series doesn’t necessarily truly reflect the attitude of the upper class. E.g., I’ve known as many middle class racists as upper class racists. And, current voting trends would indicate that there are many lower income racists, too. All it possibly points out is that the writers agree with you. FWIW
