Hey, everyone! Happy June!
Good lord, is it really June already? I'd ask myself the same questions when we were deep in Forks dev, so I guess something must be going right! Slow and steady, but with progress to show you!
Biggest part of the project for the moment is the absolute mountain of assets, both for the proof-of-concept as well as future content. The Forks demo helped teach me how to write multiple distinct characters, so I've been excited to spread my wings with even more! It's a ton of planning to make sure everything fits together, an order of magnitude more than with Forks. It's actually kind of working out that the art's taking so long, as I need lots of time to work the narrative.
But you're not here for words, you're here for pictures! There's pictures above, yay!
First is a current group shot of all finished characters Toro's done. You might notice some whom you've never seen before! While they're planned for the full game, you likely won't see them in the brief first demo. Certainly something to look forward to if we all get to keep on keepin' on.
Next up are some WIP screens, showcasing a better idea (that background's finished at full-res, I need to ask for it soon) of general gameplay, as well as a second look at the crafting menu. E's implemented a basic tutorial disclaimer, along with tools to use similar popups elsewhere. It's all going to look even better once Toro does another pass on the UI, but like with Forks, that's one of the last things that'll get tweaked. Still, we're moving forward!
Hope you're all doing well and had a nice holiday ^_^. I have to be up for work in 5 hours, so I'll be back here checking updates really soon!
