I had to stop myself from finding excuses to visit the shoe store or the tire shop. :-) Also I don't find skunk spray terribly offensive. Up close it can be a bit eye watering, but otherwise it's okay. It reminds me of burning rubber. Other unusual smells likes (not sure I can overstate this): certain glues, new cardboard boxes and some paper products, leather, drywall and drywall compound!, the wood aisle at home depot, laundry and dishwasher! detergent. I struggle with words too. It got easier as I've gotten older. Also kudos to you HGM for putting yourself out there. That takes a lot of gumption and bravery.
