Scott Pilgrim vs The Netflix Show
Added 2024-03-09 17:07:27 +0000 UTCHello! It's been a while since I've did an update! So before I begin, let's got some quick stuff out of the way

Time for something more slightly in-depth.
Hey hey! Thank you for being patient with the video, as the updates have slowed down a bit on Patreon compared to Discord. Main reason being I thought I could do this video relatively quickly and plop it out early February.
Since I like drawing characters from this franchise + I'm mostly showing assets from the comic with clips from the show and the movie, my ignorance led me to believe this would be a fairly simple thing to do.
It is now March and I'm scrambling to get this video done before I catch a flight! And it is mostly done! All I gotta do is add the sound effects / music, do the thumbnail, Patreon commissions and shoutouts. (I'll probably have to do the Patreon shoutouts in a plane toilet, so i'm excited to do some public recordings!)
But why'd it take longer than expected? It was mainly the comic and me wanting to turn some segments into a motion graphic. Which seemed simple enough -> get voice actors to talk over segment of the comic. But it ended up being a more tedious process. So it turns out like this:
- Cut out comic scenes into individual panels
- Cut out the individual assets of those panels so you can move them around
- Recompose the comic panels so they properly fit the 16:9 aspect ratio of a video
- Find voice actors by sifting through dozens of submissions
- Then animate a segment with those voices
- Then add the music + atmos + sfx
Specifically the first three steps were the most time consuming ones, since I basically had to draw back some assets of the comic to match O'Maley's style in order to look seamless. This was needlessly time consuming and holy crap I should better pace myself before I do something like that again. There were supposed to be more animated segments but I knew at some point I bit more off than I could chew when I missed my personal deadline of early February.
REGARDLESSSSS
I'm really happy with how the video turned out! I think its one the best looking videos I've edited so far, and artistically I'm very satisfied with it! I drew a lot for this video (I wish I could draw more), I tried new camera stuff, and no major editing crashes happened on my end!! So I hope you enjoy it :)
Thanks basically it!! Thanks for the support again!!
