So one week ago today, March 12th, was my birthday. I had a fun time! But a self-imposed goal of mine I had was to never miss an upload on three days of the year: March 12th (My Birthday), April 1st (April Fools), and October 31st (Halloween). You might notice I did miss an update on my birthday, because I realized a little too late that I'd put a little too much on my plate.
The original plan, was, of course, Back to the Future Trilogy But Really Really Fast, which was supposed to be a "Quick transitional BRRF that won't take too long in between larger projects", the poll that BTTF originated on was full of other "Short easy" scripts (Zelda Ocarina of Time, Ace Attorney 1, Pikmin 2) but I'd underestimated how hard it would be to write this script, I'd tackled writing it over and over and hit serious writer's block every time and because BTTF won the poll twice in a row (Also making it the only winner of the poll in the first place), I felt obligated to work on it even though I was having serious trouble, even though so many followers of mine want to see JoJo Part 5, a project I think I would have a lot less difficulty tackling.
...Then, about a week before my birthday, I realized BTTF wouldn't be done in time and realized if I wanted a project out on time I'd need to switch gears, so I realized I could have some fun working on Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan's OVA's as a BRRF. That project is going very well! I've been working on it during streams I've recently gotten into, and the vast majority of that project is complete. I'm not too bothered by missing the initial release date if it means I'm gonna produce a fun project a couple weeks later at latest.
...Of course, if that project still has a week of work left to go, then it's not gonna get done until just before April 1st, and I have no ideas on what April Fools project I could start and finish in, like... A couple days. I'd felt bad missing my birthday, and I'd feel super bad missing April Fools too, AND Back to the Future still isn't done (And is a long long way until completion).
SO
Here's my plan.
Step 1: Highly apologize to the folks who voted on Back to the Future Trilogy, and potentially future polls too. I think sealing myself in with "I need to work on this one even if I'm unmotivated to do so" put a serious damper on my work and is why I got FNAF and TSKR's projects done so quickly even though BTTF was the next scheduled one. I think getting projects done at all are better than getting done a project I'm not so motivated to do.
Step 2: Finish TSKR OVAs BRRF and call it a late birthday upload. I'm still aiming on giving it a March release!
Step 3: Skip Back to the Future for now... AND return to it later but instead only working on the first movie. The biggest hurdle for me was thinking "Oh I've done seasons of anime before, 3 movies will be nothing", but oh jeez the Back to the Future movies are extremely dense with content and skipping almost any scene would be missing important information. My current plan is, Back to the Future 1 would be its own video, and Back to the Future 2+3 would be a second video, instead of trilogy making it into its own single upload.
Step 4: Work on JoJo Part 5. It's the project the majority of my viewers want, and it's a project I am geared up to work on, so although it means two JoJo projects in a row I think that's my best bet!
Step 5: Put a far lower emphasis on how much impact the polls have on what I work on next. I thought they would be a fun idea, but it obviously put a heavy damper on my work schedule!
Step 6: Put out in the open a clear folly of mine. My biggest mistake was thinking "Oh I can get a BRRF of anything done in a couple weeks if I put my mind to it", but the obvious mistake there is if I were to do that I'd be compromising a lot of the original story to get the video out quicker. If I wanted to make everything like Death Note BRRF I could, but if it's a parody of content I enjoy I wouldn't want to compromise it like that! I've basically come to the conclusion that a BRRF project, no matter what it is of, because I'm just one person, will be a huge time investment. Projects only come out in under a couple weeks out of luck or me just so happening to be really in the zone, and I shouldn't expect every project to come out that way!!
Step 7: Just, like, go with the flow. Will I have a project done in time for April 1st? Maybe!! Whatever!! If I do I hope y'all won't mind it won't have the production quality of Where is Josuke (Which was a complete fluke of a project and I don't expect another video to have that kind of turnaround again anytime soon).
...Okay!! I think that's it! I hope y'all don't mind the production changes, and I hope this essay of a post will suffice as an explanation. TSKR BRRF comes out soon, please follow my Twitch (Which I've been using very frequently recently, my schedule can be found below), and I hope y'all look forward to what I have coming next!
Okay thank you for reading!!
