IT'S PATREON OVERHAUL TIME!
Added 2019-06-26 06:02:14 +0000 UTCTime for an update I've been meaning to do for a while, finishing the rebrand I've done over my other media!
This comes with new versions of my pledge tiers and new goals, soooo let's go through everything so that everybody's kept up to date!
First, new pledge tiers:
- $1 - Access to new videos early for a day or so, access to patron-only chat on my Discord server, plus access any other miscellaneous Patreon-only posts I make!
- $5 - All of the above (With a more elusive Discord role), plus access to a new poll system I'll be introducing for deciding the next "But Really Really Fast" video I'll be working on for every video! If I can think of any other bonuses (I'm considering live streams or something?) then I'll add them as I go!
Both the old pledge tiers of $10 and $30 are being removed, including the perks that came with them. $10 used to have a Discord Patron-exclusive chat but I feel that's better suited to be open for all Patrons, and $30 included me drawing up art for a Patron, that which makes significantly more sense as a commission service.
Notably I haven't detailed anything on endslate credits, because due to me heading back to shorter-style videos without endslates, it doesn't make sense to advertise endslate credits here anymore. HOWEVER! For the occasional different longer-style videos, I will still use endslate credits for all current patrons per video!
Next, I want to go over goals! I've had two sitting in limbo for a long time, the $600 Trigger Happy Horses goal, and the $2000 Full-Time goal. Let's quickly go over them:
- Unfortunately Trigger Happy Horses is gonna go. I had a lot of fun making the original video and I did have a plan on how I wanted to continue it, but it was a huge huge time investment and it's time I think is best spent elsewhere... However I don't want to definitively say I'm putting Trigger Happy Horses to rest. If enough demand exists, I'd be willing to continue it and put this goal back up.
- The $2000 goal was a goal made as a "If I earn this, I'll definitely be able to exclusively work full-time on my content"... But in hindsight it is a mass mass overestimate. I still want to keep this goal around, but I'm reducing the amount to $800, which is firstly more realistic, and secondly more accurate.
With that covered, here are my new goals:
- $200 - I'll add patron-suggested series' to the But Really Really Fast poll! All entries for the poll will ordinarily be chosen by me, but if this goal is reached I'll open it up to user-suggested series', including ones I haven't watched/played! (These would inevitably require me to familiarize myself with any voted series' but I'll jump that hurdle when I get to it.)
- $400 - I'll make a how-to video on how I make an animation from start to finish! From script, to sound, to art, to animation, and to editing!
- $800 - Full-time video-making! This means a proper schedule on video releases (Probably fortnightly-to-monthly), and a very secure and happy me!
These goals are subject to change, if only because I don't like making choices definitive. Thanks for reading this far! To reward here's a progress report on my current projects:
JoJo Part 3 has a completed script and recorded audio, but will be on hold while I finish a couple BronyCon projects. BronyCon 2019 is just around the corner, and I want my bases covered before I resume work on JoJo.
BronyCon projects I'm working on include a couple collab pieces, and notably Brony Polka Animated... Yes, actually this time. Three full years in the making, I'll finally be closing the curtain on easily the longest-lasting project I've ever found myself working on! BronyCon is happening early August, so that's when I'll be back to my usual work schedule.
That should be it! See y'all later!
