Wow how long has it been since the last super proper honest-to-god proper-ass video?
Today I'm releasing the first episode in a new series I'm calling "Animation Insights", essentially a spiritual successor to Vivcast. I know I'm a good rambler especially when it's something I'm really involved in, and I know many of you enjoyed my rambles in Vivcast, however I personally wasn't too much a fan of how disconnected from my usual work it was, and also its lack of editing made it feel kinda cheap in content.
So, as a solution, Animation Insights is a show where I talk about the inner-workings of the creative process on videos I make! It's over an hour long but I'm pretty proud of the density of this video and I tried my best to make it visually engaging from start to finish.
The video mostly speaks for itself but I have two things to address: First, I think now's a good time to "Officially release" a document I've been writing up the past few months: "A Comprehensive Guide to Neil Cicierega's Discography".
Neil's musical work is something I've been hugely into for the past couple of years (Hence this music video as well as Musical Chairs), but his releases are somewhat scatterbrained and are jumbled all throughout the internet. The purpose of this document is to comprehensively catalog every single song Neil has released to the public. If you're just getting into his stuff I only recommend his main album releases, the rest of the document is for the crazy obscure stuff for those who really want a resource for all those kinds of songs like I do.
The second thing I wanted to address is the endslate of the video: I've decided to reformat how I'll be displaying patron credits, now including $1 patrons as well. This is somewhat of an experiment but my thought is if you're willing to be a patron, I believe you should be rewarded in some way, and although I've been trying to get videos to release early for patrons evidently that hasn't always worked out, so instead this way every patron will be rewarded in some manner. Every single one of my patrons is super awesome, and also super patient for sticking around despite the video drought, and I really appreciate it! I really hope the gaps in between my video releases are worth it for the content I'm eventually releasing. The past couple of months have been dedicated to work seen on other channels (Bronies React, Doors 3), which is one big reason why my channel has been quite quiet quite recently, but I'm going to try avoiding that in the future.
Finally, I'm thinking of putting up a patron-exclusive poll in the near future for what the next Animation Insights should be. If anybody has any suggestions on what it should be, comment below and I may include it in the poll!
Thanks again!
