Heidi, Kahanna and Lala in Conversation

Hey,

It’s Jacob, I’m Heidi’s Patreon Manager.

I just wanted to give some context about this video—We filmed this on like 6/3. Kahanna, Lala, and Heidi wanted to have this conversation. We hired them to come on the Patreon to debut this video, with a later public YouTube release. I know there’s been a lot happening on twitter since then which might make this video release surprising. Heidi and Kahanna have been in contact since their public conversation earlier this week and they both agree that this video and this conversation are important and both still want to release it.

Enjoy!

i really appreciate the conversation about trade i’ve been talking with friends about it a lot recently too. i feel like because of the way it’s used on the show people really ignore the trauma that comes with trade. i feel a lot of it comes from pressure to perform masculinity especially in black spaces and especially in low income urban areas or inner cities. black and brown and poor men are given the least space to express their queerness or femininity especially black men without being ostracized and so naturally the need to be hyper masculine will follow suit. now a days people throw it around like it just means hot or masculine and it’s honestly so corny to me like that is not trade!!!!! y’all make such good points i love you!
