Poll 79 Results, Poll 80 and This Week

Some of you may have clocked that I screwed up last week's poll: we did WW2 the week before with the Vickers, so it should have been modern. Armour Penetration won, so we've got some modern armour penetration... sort of.

I was looking for something a bit more interesting to do having screwed the poll up and thought I'd show off some CM: Pro... then I remembered one of the first PVP games I played in it and how crazy the Ajax was. So this week we've got a fun new kind of test: the test vehicle gets plonked down at one end of the range and a company of BMP-3s advance towards it from some dead ground 1000m out. That way we've got a fun kind of engagement test.

No spoilers, but the combination of modern sensors and 40mm cannon make the Ajax one scary piece of work. At least in theory...

As a side note, I don't think anyone's laid out which Ajax the Ajax Recce vehicle is supposed to be. There were two Ajaxes at Troy: big Ajax, who was a kinda stereotypical dumb muscle and little Ajax who was, for want of a better term, a right little shit. Big Ajax committed suicide after Odysseus beats him in a debate over who gets Achilles' armour, Little Ajax raped Cassandra while she was a supplicant in a temple during the sack of Troy so the Gods drowned him in a storm on the way home.

So I've never really been sure why anyone would want to name their project 'Ajax'...

Anyway, I'm slowly cycling back up to speed after having a week off. Not 100% sure where to go right now, but I suspect it's going to be nailing down the next phase of the company challenge.

That leaves this week's poll, which really is a WW2 one this time. Infantry firepower won in the last WW2 poll, so we're back round to Armour Penetration and Arty/CAS demo.
