Pranayama - Moving with the Breath

OM
Hello sweet Patrons! I'm so grateful that you're here. You mean so much to me & I think about you almost constantly (not obsessively - promise).

Moon Salutations is one of my absolute favourite sequences to explore every month. They don't need to be practiced during the full moon - they can be practiced at any time. We don't spend a heap of time during the video on alignment, and we also don't ignore alignment altogether. The focus for this is building an intimate connection with the breath.

We use the breath to root us in awareness and allow the breath to carry us through transitions from one posture to the next. Be curious about how it feels when you move with your breath. Notice if you prefer to exhale or inhale as you float from shape to shape.

What the heck are moon salutations?
We embody the phases of the moon as we move across our mat. Just as the phases of the waxing moon repeat as the moon wanes, we do the same. Wide-Legged Forward Bend is our halfway point - or our Full Moon.
Postures in Moon Salutations:
Crescents.
Victory Squat (Sometimes called goddess)
Triangle
Side Angle
Flank or Pyramid
Crescent Lunge
Standing Wide-Legged Forward Bend

So listen - in this video, I decided to be a little less rigid and be more Kim. I often try to be the most-most when I create here for you, and I'd like to switch to something that feels more authentic. The thing is I like being silly and imperfect, and I believe that we can still be sincere in our practice and not take ourselves too seriously. As I begin to look at ways to expand Yoga offerings, I'm going to be leaning into these loose-goose style practices.

Let me know what you think. And what you'd like to see more of in this space.
Thank you so much for your presence here. It is an absolute privilege to guide you in these practices.
