To celebrate the upcoming full release of Pro Wrestling X on Steam the PWX crew would like to share with our amazing Patreon supporters this previously unreleased piece of pro wrestling game history; The original 2005 Pro Wrestling X prototype!

It's super dated and clunky AF for sure. Just a 2 player demo against CPU. Keyboard controls only no gamepad support. And the CAW is just a proof of concept that doesn't save changes.

This prototype was what they call a 'vertical slice' created just to prove that our humble little team could make two dudes punch and grapple each other in a ring. And believe me back in 2005 before you could get a AAA game engine for free and purchase an asset pack of characters and animations for the cost of a pizza this was no small feat! Everything built, modeled, animated, and coded from scratch.

Playing this again today after so many years it almost brings a tear to my eye to see how far Pro Wrestling X has come from this prototype to what we have now on Steam. So many hard years and so many challenging baby steps. And today, for the first time ever, you get to play our very first baby step that started it all. A few notes:

-This playable prototype is FREE for all current paid Patreon supporters. You should not be charged a damn thing by Patreon to use the download link. Please let us know if you experience any issues or accidental charges.

-This is a raw EXE install file originally developed for (woah!) Windows XP LOL! So your antivirus may not play nice with it.

-We have zero documentation for this. How do you play it with a keyboard? Your guess is as good as ours this many years later.

-It cost me over $50,000 in license, overhead, and labor costs to produce this. Yeah...I know. That still hurts.

-This prototype featured the first playable versions of the iconic Pro Wrestling X characters; Tirador, and Dane. Think we should include these oldschool versions in the current PWX? They might look a weeeeee bit out of place compared the current rebooted versions designed by our lead artist, Mr Rasslin' X lol.
