DIY AC/DC Current Clamp Extra Details

Here you can find the schematic for this small project along with some extra pictures of my finished project.

Also I thought about why my DIY AC/DC current clamp did not work very well at higher frequencies and I think I got a theory. Of course using another ferrite core does improve the result, like shown in the video. But I think using 2 hall effect sensors like the commercial version does, would also have helped in some way. This way we could could get rid of noise signals by simply comaring the output of both sensors and creating something like a subtraction. This would of course require a more complex circuit, a more stable clamp head design and lots of testing. So not sure if that is worth to some people but I think this could be the next step in improving such an AC/DC current clamp. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video :-)

It is not about precision but about speed (slew rate) and open loop gain at the required frequency.

I actually tried out a few different OpAmps. Also an OP precision OpAmp. The results were pretty much always the same.

I guess the problems with your circuit are mainly caused by the op amp you used. Also the 1M output resistor probably makes things worse.

A fully baked solution isn't necessarily what I look for. I enjoy your videos to keep my mind active to electronics and hopefully I am able to recall and utilize your teachings in my own future projects. I really liked this one and appreciate this follow-up thought for "other things to consider". Thank you for your projects and shared videos!
