The Future of Nara Makes Games
Added 2024-11-07 08:57:50 +0000 UTCBeen thinking a lot about the future of Nara Makes Games, my possible game dev future, and what I should do with social media. My game dev career aspirations were stomped on (and continue to be behind the scenes, even today). And social media is absolutely exhausting lately. So I'm thinking the best move for me might be to step away and work more in private. Get back to doing it for me first. But I do have a following on Instagram, Youtube and Patreon who will want to know what the heck I am doing if they are gonna stick around for it. So I think I may lean more on Patreon than anything else. Maybe post about the new game exclusively on here.
Since you guys are my target market, the fans willing to directly support my efforts... I want your opinion - Does posting ONLY on Patreon offer you some value and a reason to keep supporting me? Or do you really not care about exclusivity to continue your support?

Iβll keep supporting no matter where you post. I absolutely understand that social media is draining and you (and me and everyone) need to do stuff for yourself first. Enjoy your time in Japan and donβt put yourself under too much pressure.

2024-11-09 06:48:10 +0000 UTCFor me, it doesn't really matter where you posted, but I think it might be a good idea to work more in the background and update Patreon supporters so the sense of support is there - some other channels can be draining, especially it's free to comment and could take a hit on your mood or passion.
