[NEW VIDEO + UPDATE] Racclog #3

Thanks for the patience! Racclog 3 is finally here, and in this episode I talk about:

- Horizon Chase Turbo

- Stray

- Gran Turismo 7

- Psychonauts

- Life is Strange: True Colors

- The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe

- Persona 5 Strikers

- Unpacking

This is the most stacked Racclog yet, but even aside from that, this episode took much longer to get out that it should have as I'm still recovering from COVID (somewhat anxious that I may have long COVID at the moment, oof) so I do apologise.

But while I enjoy making Racclog in its current format and will continue to do so, it also feels like I'm withholding several videos at a time and keeping them to upload them all at once, which frustrates me a little as each segment of Racclog doesn't take much effort to make at all, and if they were their own videos, I'd probably be able to release several videos a month if I put my back into it, y'know?

So I might experiment with that. Each Racclog segment, as is, probably wouldn't make a very compelling video on its own, but with a bit of adjustment - adding a bit more length to them, going into a few more finer details - I think they could work as their own individual uploads under the Racclog moniker. Then, once I've done enough of them, I'd upload them into a big compilation, an hour-ish video similar to the past three Racclog videos, for those (like myself) who enjoy the podcast-length format.

There would still be plenty of games I might not be able to get a full video out of (for example, Horizon Chase Turbo and The Stanley Parable in this episode, which are both around three minutes), and in those cases, they would be thrown into the bigger Racclog videos as little bonuses. But distributing Racclog segments this way would mean seeing uploads from me more often, being able to be more topical about newer games, and so on.

YES, I realise that this is basically Bloody Short Reviews 2.0... or, I guess, 3.0 if we count the Bazza era. I have said I'm not a fan of shorter uploads in the past and would rather make chunky videos you can really sit down and munch popcorn to, but making long videos is exhausting to my tired ass, and having shorter uploads to work towards would motivate me to get more stuff out, getting me into a better rhythm of making stuff. Even with the extra bit of effort put in to make each segment stand on its own as a seperate video, this method wouldn't take away from bigger projects much, if at all.

So I MIGHT try this out with the next Racclog! I've got a few games in mind I'd like to try it with - Blue Dragon, Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie, Golf Story and Gears of War, all games I've been playing or have been meaning to start recently - and may give it a try once I get the 50th episode special (Ranking Every Ratchet & Clank Game) out, which should be within the month. I'm still not 100% decided on it, but that's what I've been musing about for the past few weeks and I think it sounds good!

Speaking of new videos though, here's some stuff I've been working on:

- Started on the aforementioned 50th episode special. I might have made this video a bit longer than I would have liked (it might be an hour long oops,,) but I've been dying to talk about Ratchet & Clank again so I'm really excited to get stuck in.

- LEGO Rock Band! Not sure how this video will go lmao but I've played through the game twice recently, on both guitar and drums, and wouldn't mind putting a spotlight on one of the most underrated plastic rhythm games out there.

- A video on modern 3D platformers, maybe? Stuff like Demon Turf, Hell Pie, Kao the Kangaroo, Toree 3D etc.

- I'm currently tossing up whether I'll talk about the Halo series in Racclog, or if I'll do a sort of retrospective thing on it - either one big video, or three videos split between the Xbox era, the 360 Bungie era, and the 343 era. Depends on how the script goes. I don't talk about shooters often so I'm not sure I got the chops for it lmao

Anyway that's about it! As usual, thanks for the continued support, and I really hope I can start getting a better schedule happening for y'all. Be good!
