Let it never be said I don't deliver a few surprises from time to time; this month I bring you game trailers embedded in our new video player! Live on site right now, clicking any of the banner artwork in any ranking will launch the video player for that game's primary trailer. I hope you're as excited about this feature as I am because it's very comfortable and insightful to quickly jump into disparate game worlds and experience their sights and sounds with a single click. Now you can really get a good feel for what each game is about without leaving the site!

The video automatically sizes to match the source resolution and maintains aspect ratio when downsizing on smaller screens, so it works on mobile too! Our player remembers your sound settings on each device, whether you adjust the volume or prefer to watch muted. Keep in mind this is just an early iteration of the player. Enhancements it in the near future, as time permits, may include playing more than just the title video for each game. We'll also be working on the interface to make it more obvious the feature exists!

We also made a small adjustment to the age display of games. If a game is less than 30 days old its age will be shown in number of days rather than an absolute date. This is most prominent on rankings like the rolling 30-day.

In addition, most of the month was spent working on improving the reliability of our data import technology, which will be important since we're ramping up our data import requirements for the new site to build a full historical database.
