Introduction & Goals

Hello.

Stormcutter here. If you're reading this, thank you for visiting my Patreon.
I am excited to embark on this journey into the world of 3D animation.

Right now my biggest obstacles are my computer components, my skill level particularly with shaders and rendering, and access to rigged models that are of an acceptable quality.

I'd like to take this moment to outline a number of goals for myself so that I can remain accountable and also have something to aim for.

Goal 1 — Improve my Modeling & Rendering Ability

While I feel comfortable working in animation with models and rigs provided by others, I would benefit greatly from improving my own skill in these categories, especially modeling. This entire project serves as a greater launchpad for being a skilled 3D Animator.

Goal 2 — Produce Enjoyable Content of Good Quality

I want to hold myself to a standard even if I am just a beginner at time of writing. Laziness results in sub-par productions and those never sit right with me. I will be patient with my own limitations, but will try not to compromise quality regardless. Even if it's a short or simple animation, I want it to be one that was worth making.

Goal 3 — Serve Niche Communities

I know all too well what it is like to have particular interests that other people just do not share or are not interesting in producing content around. That being said, if I can produce niche content for people in this space, I will have served a broader purpose.

Goal 4 — Capture Intimate Moments

A personal want, but I feel like a lot of material people produce fails to feel realistic or intimate in a way that makes it look like something more... meaningful. I wish to capture the human experience in the things I make even if they are rooted in something that makes people feel something else too.
