Prusa Mini

 Dear Patrons,

Firstly, the discourse message board is starting to gather momentum. It is far superior to the community section or messages here. You can drag and drop multimedia onto the screen for a start, no need to upload elsewhere and link. Any links you do post get the automatic preview too. From an admin point of view, I just click 'unread' - bliss!

I've just posted to start organising the first video hangout for the Partner tier.

I will be updating the tier descriptions and abandoning the community section later this week.

On Friday I unboxed my Prusa Mini. Like the MK3, I was very impressed by the packaging and assembly process. Since then I've had a bit of trouble and some failed prints. I solved them by changing the piece of PTFE tube above the nozzle for a longer one. You can see in the pic that there was a gap which was filling with filament and causing the jam. After putting in a longer section it's printing as you would hope. Very surprised to have this problem but the whole experience will go into the video.

My Prusa Mini prints better than my MK3S’. I have had problems with unloading filament. The blob on the end doesn’t fit through the PTFE tube so I have to unscrew the compressing nuts when unloading the filament.

That thing looks SO nice!!

As an early adopter, I love my Prusa Mini as well. Well yes, the hotend PTFE tube is a pain to repair but once you learn the trick by tighten the screw and set the hotend correct height, it will start working again. I think the root cause for the filament jamming is due to the insufficient cooling when it is set up improperly. Overall, I think sometimes my mini outperforms my Prusa MK3S expect some noticeable stringing - this can be fixed by tweaking temperature settings. Look forward to watching your reviews ;-)
