The Troublesome Mirror of Magic
Added 2023-09-23 12:16:51 +0000 UTCLarian's Patch 3 for Baldur's Gate finally brought with it a much awaited feature, the Magic Mirror! I know quite a few people have awaited the ability to freely change their appearance with ease. So that's certainly a welcome addition to the game.
At the same time, this Patch is sadly causing serious issues for people right now, like being unable to save the game. That one seems to be an issue triggered by trading.
Now Larian is already working on the Hotfix for Patch 3, which hopefully will resolve these issues. Until it's available, the following workaround was found to at least restore the ability to save for those affected:
1. Trade with a merchant via dialog.
-> Saving is now failing (Error 516).
2. Trade again with a merchant but via the button at the bottom left.
-> Saving works again.
But beware, this issues can reappear and you'll have to fix it with the above method again. I'd check that saving works after every trading session and save often in general until the Hotfix is released. An even saver approach would be to wait for it, of course.

Indeed, seemed like a serious enough issue to better make a post about it and hopefully help some of you. Sadly some people are encountering other problems as well. So good luck!
