Preview 𐍈 Prussian Cavalry for the February Release

Historical sources are scarce for any of the Baltic states in the 13th century, but there are some points we can take into consideration while designing some of their equipment: for example, we know that the baltic region experienced influences from Russia and from the Eastern steppes that weren't felt in other parts of Europe.
For this reason, I decided to go with variations on a dome-shaped helmet from a find in Western Russia dating around the late 12th century to early 13th century. The eye and nasal coverings were somewhat inspired by the Nikolskoye helmet, found in western russia and also dating from the beginning of the 13th century. The high aventail is also meant to evoke those eastern influences.
Soon I will post a preview of the Prussian archers as well, but in the meantime I would love to know what you think of these.
Edit: Since I realized these look a bit too rus, I will change them slightly so that they feel more baltic. I will post the updated versions tomorrow.

Thanks, they're really supposed to feel as a mix of rus and european. Maybe the full face aventail pushes them a bit too far towards the rus side, but I think it looks good. So maybe I should add the baltic face guard to compensate, instead of the Nikolskoye eye and noseguard
2024-02-13 17:08:13 +0000 UTCNot the Prussian Cavalry one would expect at first, but they are crushing! They look really dark and as you wrote, actually quite "rus". The horses are also awesome, extremely dynamic!
