Concluding the year of creators!
Added 2022-12-24 06:20:17 +0000 UTCCan you guess why the title is what it is?
I feel that although I have been very active throughout the year, the main difference from last year is the solutions released by the other members of the ultrawide (and wider) community.
There were multiple new fixes released by PhantomGamers, Lyall and czarman, as well as HaYDeN, who had become active last year after about 4 years of inactivity and even after his site going down for a while. Although the number of new fixes from HaYDeN is not big, I think he stole the show by covering the most played games of this year, including Elden Ring and Final Fantasy 7 - the games which brought record numbers of users to the WSGF platforms (and pushed us to do more to manage the discussions).
As for me, I remained consistent and continued doing what I do, with many old-style solutions but also novel approaches, some of which were certainly used by some of the aforementioned creators as well.
Another highlight of this year is my general switch towards DLL injection over trainers, resulting in easy-to-use drag-and-drop solutions that trigger fewer anti-virus engines. As documented throughout the posts here on Patreon, it required a total overhaul of my approach but I think it was worth it. It's not set in stone though, and I will continue going for the most optimal approaches from game to game.
This was also my first year going solo, as I was no longer a staff member of PCGW and could not rely on its Assignments system for review codes. You were my backbone in this for sure.
Wouldn't it be fun to go through each fix one by one again and have them all in one place? That's exactly what I did for anyone interested, available as a separate post, as it's quite long!
Having gone through all of them one by one, I cannot believe I covered so many in a year. All with no backing except from the community itself! We may be a comparably small one but definitely one of value! Although the future is uncertain, and even more so after the recently documented hardships, you being here is a sign of hope. Some of you have been with me through thick and thin for nearly two years, while the newest supporters show us that my work remains relevant and appreciated. As we see year after year, creators come and go, and I personally struggle a lot, but each of you helps me move on and do more.
And so as before, that's exactly what I'm hoping to do next year. Make sure to have a wonderful time between now and then. :)
Happy Holidays to each and all of you!
