It's your call now... Comics vs Illustrations + Blog

       All right ladies and gents, (yes I know for a fact there are some ladies among you fellas). When I switched to illustrations I mentioned that we could return to do comics, now that 2 months has passed (I know there is still one Xena Illustration to go), it's time to think about it again. 

Important: 10 pages has proven to be impracticable, I had to work too many over hours to be able to do it and I wasn't pleased with the result, so if we get back to comics it will be reduced to 6 pages per month.

       If you decided to continue reading I will explain why I did the switch to illustrations and why I'm open to go back to comics.

Why I switched?

       For my whole career (10+ years at this point), I always being mainly a comics artist, in recent years I became very interest in Film art, (Concept, Matte painting, Key frame Illustrations). I was about to move to a big city, when Covid-19 arrived in Brasil, so I decided to stay in my small town for a little longer. 

       But to produce Film art it requires a level of realism that I never done before so I needed to be able to put some time into it to prove to myself that I could do this kind of art in a acceptable level of professionalism, but with all the commissions that I have to do to pay my bills plus all the 10 pages for Patreon it was impossible, that is why I chose to switch to illustrations for a while.

Why I'm open to go back?

        This 2 months already proven to me that I can do semi realistic art in a good level. 

        Plus the Corona virus reaching unbelievable levels shown to me that I may not be able to start my Film making career as soon as I expected, considering that the places to go to make TV and Film in Brasil are Sao Paulo and Rio, and the virus is hammering strong in those 2 cities, I think will be impossible to move there before 2021.

        Also, people are still coming to me looking for my comics work, storytelling is definitely my biggest passion, I love the challenge to represent characters in this ENF situation without making them look to uncharacteristic (that is a big word).
