Good evening Gang!
Holy shit we finally made it. It's finally time for the post video update. I genuinely never thought we'd make it this far. At times it seemed like I'd never finish this one!
So just to kick things off, a couple of things I wanted to stress:
I'd seen a few comments on YouTube saying "why do we have to pay for the uncensored version on patreon when these fights are all on YouTube and are uncensored". Ignoring the fact no one has to pay for anything, a lot of the fights i covered in the unedited version (Simon vs Tae Kwon Do guy, all the Tunnel fights, the beef fight between the guys in matching tracksuits) are all age-restricted and demonetized on KOTS channel. So in order to avoid my video getting demonetized, I had to censor them or outright replace them with still images in the final YouTube version.
Also, i did a fuck up just through sheer mental confusion. After my 3rd or 4th attempt to edit a version that was good enough to pass YouTube's censors, i had to remove the Bloodaxe v KNF fight completely, and I put in that disclaimer about missing footage in the video. At that point I was honestly so mentally checked out from days of editing, uploading, waiting for youtube to shut it down, then repeating the cycle over again, I somehow managed to write "10 minutes of footage was missing" when in actuality its like 2 minutes or so. If anyone joined the Patreon looking for an extra 10 minutes and is upset about it, PLEASE just DM me and I'll refund your membership fee. And my sincere apologies for the screw up.

Just breaking up the wall of text
So yeah, aside from the CM Punk video getting absolutely ravaged by WWE copyright, no other video has been as difficult to get on YouTube than this one. The worst part was, every upload I did was age-restricted, which is genuinely worse than a copyright claim. Because a copyright claim will tell you exactly what point in the video the copyright material is located, so its relatively easy to fix. An age restriction is like YouTube telling you, "hey, your shit is fucked up. Figure it out." So you basically have to take a guess as to what moment(s) in the video you think may have offended the almighty detection algorithm, and edit accordingly. In a minefield like this video, im sure you can imagine how hard it was to try and guess what was triggering the age block, when pretty much everything was criteria for a banhammer.
In the end, the list of edits i had to make to appease the algo were thus:
Tunnel fights removed
Simon vs TKD removed
Bloodaxe v KNF removed
Handful of teeth pic blurred out
Close up photo of Alex's chewed ear blurred out
Close up of said chunk of ear lying on the ground removed
Clip of Bash posing with said chunk of ear in his mouth blurred out
Various eye gouging clips blurred out
Music in Death Sentences montage removed
Hoiiboy v Skullman had to be seriously trimmed down
Possibly more I'm forgetting but you get the picture
So yeah, the week since this went up on Patreon has been a nightmare of editing. Ive been uploading test versions since Monday, and only got a working cut online sometime around Friday evening I think. I was genuinely pretty unhappy with the YT version in the end, but I get it, its their platform and if you want to earn ad revenue, you have to try and be advertiser friendly and i suppose some mild cannibalism and concrete concussions and shit doesn't really abide by their rules I FUCKING GUESS.
Jesus i think KOTS exposure has broken my brain.

Probably also this guys brain too
The Patreon cut though, yeah I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Again, huge shoutout to everyone who took part, Eric Olsen, Alex Etherington, Shinigami, Eternal and Megadeth. The video wouldn't have been the same without them.
My initial plan was to really try and cover a bunch of unsanctioned orgs. I knew Street Beefs and KOTS would be the two main pillars of the story, but I had seen other orgs like Yatcha FC, Pitbull FC, and even the Easter bare knuckle festival in Guatemala, so I wrote a good chunk about them, but ultimately it just felt like filler anytime I went back to it. After a few days trying to make it work, I was really unhappy with how it sat in the video, so I said fuck it, and removed it. A very, VERY stripped down version of that segment was eventually turned into the epilogue. But yeah once the KOTS segment started I did have a bit of a hard time with this one, for obvious reasons. I'm used to writing and researching heavy subject matter in the other videos, but it tends to be like, the Josh Samman bit in the TUF video, e.g, 10 minutes out of a near 2 hour video. A month long binge of KOTS, and nearly an hour of video on them was rough. Call me old fashioned, I like when the gangsters who run my MMA organization look like Dana and Lorenzo, not some dudes in balaclavas waving an AK around lol.
ANYWAY! The return to the world of underground fighting is DONE. Ive gotten positive reviews from people from both Street Beefs and KOTS, which makes me happy and gives me hope the KOTS lads wont track me down and kill me. So now its time to get to work on the End of Year Review. I sat down this morning and got a rough sketch of the intro written, now the rest of the week is gonna be spent collating all the stories worth discussing, and hopefully next weekend I'll get a proper start made.

I didnt get to use this last year, so expect me to overuse it this year to get my moneys worth
For all of you who signed up to see the unedited cut of KFAD, and those of you who've been here for the long haul, THANK YOU. (and again, anyone who signed up for those missing ten minutes but only got 2, please DM me and ill sort a refund for you). But thank you all for the support. Its been a tough couple of months of work, but seeing how you've enjoyed this video has been worth it.
Catch you next week, just bleed but don't fucking bite anyone's ears off for gods sake,
Nap
