Fight Club Update #2!

Good evening Gang! How are we all doing?? As always, I'm back with another Sunday night update for that azz.

So work is progressing on the return to the world of underground fighting, I've gone from having little more than the intro last week to a full 17 minutes of completed video:

I've also had quick chats with a few people who have fought in streetbeefs, to try and see if i can tell some of the story through their experience of backyard fighting. In a weird way, this has kind had a knock on effect on the writing in that, i don't want to say its made me struggle with the writing, but trying to think about how to work these interviews into the overall package, and writing sections about people who I plan to interview, but haven't actually interviewed yet, has just put my writing in a weird position its not been in before. I guess it's essentially putting the cart before the horse, but I'll work it out. Also, im not an interviewer, so that's given me the added worry of "have i managed to get anything entertaining or useful out of these interviews or has it been a waste of time". Its just slowed my writing a bit more than I'd like, and being on a bit of a limited time frame for this one, that's no bueno as they say in France.

But, speaking of interviews, I had lined up an interview with another King of the Streets fighter, Alex Etherington. He famously had his ear bitten off in a KOTS match, so I definitely wanted to talk to him. We caught up via DM and have now had 3 separate interview dates that have fallen through because reasons, yet the discourse we've had over DM, video message and voice message has been so fucking funny that I'm like fuck it, ill let this dude honeydick me until it finally happens 😂

Its at the point now where I'm DM'ing a guy who fights bare knuckle no rules street fights and the bulk of our conversations look something like this:

So work is progressing, but just not as quickly as I'd like it to!

In other news, it was pointed out to me in my comments section this week that none other than sexual hobgoblin, Tea Lover, and ultimate ninja assassin Ashida Kim has linked my Count Dante video on the homepage of his site:

This is hilarious because he missed the * next to the word 'True' in my video title, and also because i blatantly take the piss out Kim multiple times in this video. Ol' Ashida doesn't exactly seem to be the type overflowing with self awareness, which leads me to believe he watched the opening 10 minutes, thought "Yup, this guy gets it, Karate rules!", and then turned it off. Still, getting a sort of shoutout by Kim is a bit like getting a shoutout by ICP, something i never expected to happen, but I'll gladly accept it because its weird as fuck.

Anyways, that's all for now. All I've left to say is RIP Ricky Hatton. Tragic loss of a fighter I loved back in the day.
