lineal update #6!

God damn how has this video been in the works for 6 weeks already?? This has honestly felt like a blur. I cant tell if it feels more like 6 months, or 6 days. 

Anyway, pretty major milestone hit this weekend, as 1 hour of work is done now.  I'm getting properly into the closing stages, though I do still have an entire segment left to write. Realistically, I could end the video where it is, and in all likelihood release it this coming weekend and I think it would still be a pretty good video. But at an hour of work I've only covered the belts journey from its inception with Dan Severn vs Mark Coleman for the inaugural title, to Coleman losing the belt to Maurice Smith at UFC 14. So even though I've covered a ton of shit surrounding those fights, it still feels at the same time like I've covered absolutely fucking nothing in the actual lineal timeline. 

Hence why i felt compelled to post a full screengrab of my editing software, just to prove to you all that I really do have a full hour of work completed 😂

I also just wanted to point out the above, you'll be seeing a lot of this in the new video, as I've discovered this is actually a really convenient way to circumnavigate copyright issues. Normally, if you play longer than 10 seconds of uninterrupted footage, you'll get hit with copyright. So it can be kinda painful having to break up video every 10 seconds by inserting photos or changing to a different clip. I'm sure you can imagine the pain of having to swop clips every 10 seconds in an hour long video. So I was messing about just trying to make some low resolution clips look a bit more interesting in recent videos by making it look like they were playing in windows media player on a windows 95 pc, don't ask me why. Guess I just love that dull grey aesthetic. What i discovered was that by doing that, I can get away with playing clips as long as I like and it doesn't trip the copyright bots. I know its a bit annoying having the actual video so small, but it saves me hours of work and copyright headaches. 

Anyway keeping it short this week, still a lot of work to do on the video and don't want to lose too much time! The grind never sleeps, #hustleculture, #grindcore etc etc.
