Duxdate #5: double impact

Good evening gang!

It's that time of the week again, it's the DUX DATE.

Work continues at pretty steady pace, I've managed to adjust my writing and editing sessions around the new day job, and while I still don't have as much time to spare for the video as I'd like, I'm getting back into a rhythm now and we've just hit 30 minutes of work! I went back and added a very short intro, because the video didn't feel right if it didn't open with Frank and his "Ninjas were the James Bonds of Japan" line.

I also received my Frank Dux disguise kit this week too so gonna have some fun with Mrs. B recording a few Dux interviews. This is definitely one of the dumber videos I'll make, which in a way is a bit of a relief after 2 months of brain trauma research for Power Slap.

Not sure how long this one will be, I'd say at the current rate of going, I'd estimate maybe 50 minutes or thereabouts. And maybe another 3 weeks of work to go on it before it's wrapped. Again, these are just estimates, but wanted to give you all a bit of a timeline.

What else is going on

So for a while now a lot of comments have been asking for a discord server. I legitimately have NO FUCKING CLUE what Discord is, or does. Exposing my boomer ass, It looks like a glorified chat room to me. I have never used it and it makes me feel like Grandpa fucking Simpson trying to figure this shit out.

I have created a server, but again I stress the fact that i know LITERALLY NOTHING about this, and I really don't have the spare time to figure it out. Work is still ongoing on the TV series idea, and just this evening I sent off what is basically version 1.0 of the series guide to my guy, and if he thinks its good enough, he's gonna try and start selling it. Which again just sounds utterly fucking wild to me.

Wether it gets sold or not, the very fact that I've spent 6 months working on an overview for a fucking TV series to be sold to a streaming platform is insane. If you told me 2 years ago when I was making a shitty 6 minute long video where I was talking in to the wrong side of a front facing microphone, I would've dim mak'd myself in a fit of hysterical laughter.

What movie did I watch this weekend?

I decided to punish myself and my wife, and watched The Fast and The Furious (2001). This was hilariously shit. And I loved it. It was the epitome of early 2000's. It only took about 5 minutes for a Limp Bizkit track to make an appearance followed by a cameo by Ja Rule. Every woman wore leather pants and that first street race where it legitimately looks like Paul Walker hits warp speed had me absolutely fucking howling.

Also, the big race was called fucking RACE WARS. Did no one take a look at that in the script and think maybe a less inflammatory name was in order?? I mean i know it was 2001 but Jesus Christ, even back then if you'd told me you were going to the RACE WAR this weekend, I'd have to do a triple take. I wanted to watch the entire series to see how this movie about street racers stealing DVD players eventually became Ford mustangs strapped to rocket ships in outer space, but Mrs B said she cant do another F&F movie after that. I don't blame her.
