Post video update!

What's up everyone, as is tradition now, it's time for the post video release debriefing and some chat about what's next.

First off, a massive thank you to each and every one of you guys. The Patreon numbers really blew up in the week that the video was on early access. And as always, whether you stick around just for the month or if you stay longer, you're all god damn Just Bleed guys to me. Thanks to your help I'm able to do real fancy shit like get my car serviced without having to panic about how I'm gonna afford groceries also, you know, extravagant shit like that.

On to the video!

So it's been a pretty big success so far, I mean It's not Logan Paul shitting in his hands and flinging it at his mom level numbers, or whatever it is he does on his channel, but for me, it's what I'd class as a success, at 83K views in 4 days.

But as usual, some bad news. You can probably imagine where this is heading, that's right ladies and gents, were going deep into the bullshit flecked world of COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. This afternoon, after 4 days on Youtube, I got hit with a copyright claim on TUF 2. But shockingly, it wasn't the UFC!! Warner Music decided they own the copyright to a piece of music written in 1830, and because of that, they now get to take 100% of all money earned by my 93 minute long video, because it uses 29 seconds of Symphony Fantastique by Berlioz. This video is the first time I ever made a penny off Youtube, thanks to an extreme amount of editing to avoid UFC's copyright bots, (thank you Mixed Martial Academic for the tips!) so this was a real kick in the dick. Sadly, there is no way around it, as they rejected my claim that they're full of shit and the music is public domain by the fact that its 190 years old. So the YT version is now going to have the opening montage trimmed off it as I just refuse to let those fucking parasites take the few dollars i was making.  Especially as Biscuit had to go to the vet again today, and I need every penny I can get cause that cat just refuses to stop brawling. So that's the shit news! But the Patron version on Vimeo is intact, uncut, and isn't going anywhere.

Anyway, moving on!

The video itself was pretty tough to make. I really did bite off a bit more than i could chew with this one, something I realized too late, when I was already committed to the bit. Around the point of finishing off Junie Brownings segment, I was tempted to make that the end of the video. But I'm glad I stuck with it and got Season 10 in there anyway. I wanted to go a bit deeper in the weeds on that one, like talking about Justin Wren giving up MMA to build Wells for pygmies and other crazy shit, but I think I've found my limit for video lengths, and its 93 minutes, 33 seconds.

The entire post credits Schaub section wasn't even the intended ending. I have a full Schaub script that's about 10 minutes of footage that i scrapped at the last minute as it would've meant days more editing. And that's how I hastily scribbled out a 2-minute World War 1 segment that was still better than his entire career! I was thinking about releasing the Schaub cut content as bonus DLC for Christmas, we'll see 😆

Tormenting a young Biscuit circa Easter 2013

I also heard back from Robert Browning, Junies brother. I was genuinely worried about what he'd think of the video, as it's obviously not an easy thing to talk about for him and I didn't want the video to be factually incorrect or hurtful to him and his family, but I'm relieved to say he was really happy with it, to the point where he shared it on his own Facebook page and thanked me for telling Junie's story from a more sympathetic stance.

In more upbeat news, myself and Paddy Pimblett have taken things to the next stage of our budding bromance and have begun emailing each other! I feel big things ahead for both our careers, if he just takes my advice and studies hard on his Dim Mak and Ninja Invisibility, I think this kid has potential 😆

As for what's next, I'm working on an end of year review at the moment, and I'll hopefully have that out in early/mid December. After that, I'm taking a break! Myself and Mrs B are taking a vacation in mid-January, so after the year end video goes up, I'll be resting up for Christmas, then taking our trip away, and won't be working on anything till after we get home. As always, suggestions or ideas for videos are always welcome!

Thank you again, to all of you. And I mean that sincerely, the fact that you people signed up for this and spent a dollar or more, it genuinely means the world to me and I am humbled and grateful beyond belief for your support. You're the true Just Bleed guys and girls.

Thank you mate! Yeah I watch so much stuff on YT I definitely took a lot of "inspiration" from people like Super Eyepatch Wolf and mostly the guys who did "Fighting in the age of loneliness". That video by itself was pretty much what made me want to give this video stuff a try myself

Napoleon

Thank you man! Its all good tho, I clipped out the intro and the video went back to normal. So it sucks for people who only watch on YT, as they get a lesser video, but at least Patrons still get to watch the video in all its 200 year old classical music intro glory!!

Napoleon

Brother your the best, just that fact that your gracious for the small amount we give is appreciated. I cant believe that youtube automatically takes the side of the person issuing the strike without even checking to see that it's been public domain for 120+ years. 🤬 I had sent messages back and forth and expressed my sympathy for when a youtuber killed some staff at a youtube office and I'm going to reach out to her and bring this specific case up. It's low odds it can get your video freed but I'm going to lobby her ass off!

Hey Napoleon, big fan of your vids. I love your documentary take on MMA topics. I was wondering did you take inspiration from certain YT creators ie: movie reviewers, game reviewers or other subjects. Keep up the great work! As always your last video was my favourite yet! Cheers
