Rebranding my Patreon

Hey Everyone,

Just an update to let you know I've decided to change the focus of my Patreon to my personal project, Venture Cats.

VC has been a big part of my free time between paying projects, working on other peoples comics and tabletop games, and family stuff thats been happening over the past year and a half. It's been that thing that gets me really excited to get back into really making my own comics again, and  gives me serious hope for the future. It makes me smile when I think about it, and makes me dream of what would happen if I really put all my efforts towards it.

Could I make it the amazing story I keep seeing in my head? Could it grab the attention of enough people that I could one day pitch it to an animation studio, and turn it into its own animated TV show? Could the game that I have the cats play in the comic be turned into a real tabletop RPG? All these thoughts, and a ton more, really make me want to focus on this project and give it everything I've got.

My current plan is to focus as much of my artistic energies as I can towards completing book 1 of Venture Cats. I will make it a webcomic while I build up book 1, and will self publish it if I can't find a publisher for it. I have teamed up with my buddy Gabriel Dunston in an effort to help really make the story shine (he's awesome at character driven stories and dialogue), and he will be doing a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to the story. I will be handling the art side of things. We have already finished half of the script for book 1 with a solid plan for the rest of it, and have a ton of ideas for where we could go after that. I also have been working on a whole mess of designs for all the characters in the story, drawing setting designs (a lot of which I will be sharing here) and have begun laying out pages (I'm about 18 pages in so far) and a mock up of book 1's cover (pictured below). Hopefully by the end of the year we will have copies of the first book in hand!

Having said all that I have been updating the Patreon page today to reflect its new focus, and will be updating the reward tiers soon too. I don't know if I can change the details of rewards tiers that are currently being funded by patrons, but I hope in the process I don't accidentally  cancel your patronage. If that happens I apologize for any hassle that may cause you.

In the new reward tiers I plan to offer patrons exclusive content like:

Hopefully this all sounds cool to you guys and you're all on board! Let me know if you have any questions about it. I'm so excited to get started!

~Chris
