Suntouched: the crappy display font I made for the language of the Sun
Added 2018-04-16 17:20:34 +0000 UTCI'd planned for a long time to make a custom font to represent the Suntouched Nation's language in NTO; I wanted it to be legible but distinct from the comic's normal lettering and recall the Suntouched's overall design aesthetic (of which you'll see more later). I planned on this being a big project I was going to put loads of thought and time into....! But before I knew it JHH and Stone Hears nothing were conversing in a cell and I needed type for the job yesterday ... and I hastily cobbled this together. My original character set, which I drew on paper, was too delicate next to the usual NTO lettering, so then I made a bold version, which is what you actually see in the comic, but because I am lazy they are one font rather than a Regular and a Bold, with the bolds being the caps and the regular being the lowercase. I'm not super proud of this rush job I did quick on Friday afternoon but it is what it is, and I thought I might as well share it with Patrons. TTF and OTF versions attached for your downloading pleasure. Beware: you will have to adjust the kerning to actually use it for anything. Which you can! Assuming it's a personal project. Please do check with me if you want to use it for commercial or comics projects though, and do not distribute it. I made my own, terrible, rushed font for this because I wanted a unique look for the language of the Sun.
