He has a very bad habit of putting others in the way. He didn't push Emma away, and he's already been through this with Vane how many times now? in any case, maybe they will actually have a conversation now, although I don't count on it.

Hunter, on the other hand, is at least human enough to feel regret, it seems, even if he doesn't seem to have human pain receptors. Thanks for the update, Erin. This is a riveting story.
