Well I like how you started it out with Vane being the sympathetic character. It was a nice twist to later reveal her dark side and his good side. I'm looking forward to the eventual reveal of how she changed to her current form, and whether her current darkness is the product of that change or simply a carryover of one of her stronger pre-change traits. :)
